  2. Reading this has given me goose bumps. I have been researching my family history and my Great grandmother was Jane Heffernan born in 1869 at Three Mile Creek. Died at 98 years of age. I only knew her name as “Great”. I remember her living in Roma next to my Grandmother Phillis Brown nee Fowels.

  3. Jane and Francis are my great grandparents. I traveled to Bluff and found what was said to be Jane and the twins grave, it is near the show ground and cemetery and spoke to council about it. Mary Ann brought the family up when Jane died. Also found the unmarked grave of Francis in a cemetery. I have copies of death certificates for most of the family. My second cousin Dawn and I had the pavers installed at Bluff school. I am a descendant through Mary Ann Heffernan and William Tasker both buried at Bundaberg general cemetery. My father James was Mary Ann Heffernan‘s son.

  4. Thanks, Beryl for confirming the information about the pavers, and more importantly, thank you for having them placed in Bluff. My cousins and I have seen them there: we are descended through another of Jane’s daughters, Catherine. I am so pleased to realise that now each of the branches of Jane’s three surviving daughters has responded to this blog. Sadly there are no descendants of Jane’s sons.
