Floods seem to be a recurring theme in the history of my father’s side of my family right from the early days when my paternal ancestors first arrived in Australia. My paternal great-great grandparents and my great grandparents lived in the Richmond Valley near the town of Coraki, on the Richmond River, about 25 kilometres from Lismore.
